  • The Curse of the Glass Disk

    John L Jayne

    eBook (, Sept. 10, 2016)
The supernatural trumps science. And a boy takes advantage of this fact for his enjoyment. However, the boy's unbelieving father tries to separate him from the supernatural without following the proper procedures ... and you no doubt guessed the final outcome ... especially since you've undoubtedly encountered several similar-themed stories. However, until you read this story to the end, you won't know the details of how this man met his fate. And therein lies the suspense.Incidentally, perhaps, this story will perk up in children an interest in science. Of course we hope they never duplicate the results of the experiment in this story. It would be scary if they did.
  • Two-Dimensional Horror

    John L Jayne

    (, Oct. 20, 2018)
Stories about higher dimensions are scary. That's because higher-dimensional creatures have us completely at their mercy and can easily hurt us at will. For example, four-dimensional creatures can reach into our three-dimensional bodies from outside our three-dimensional space and can take blood and body organs from us without breaking our skin. But how about stories about lower dimensions? We three-dimensional beings would have lower-dimensional creatures completely at our mercy and could easily hurt them at will. For example, we could reach into a two-dimensional creature from outside its two-dimensional space and can take blood and body organs from it without breaking its skin. And because two-dimensional creatures are a lower dimension than we are, they can't hurt us at all. Or can they? This short story shows that two-dimensional creatures aren't as harmless as we might think.
